It’s CODE RED for Humanity!
Who will help us make the world work for all living things? That’s 100% of humanity and the community of life on Earth, our home.
This is a climate emergency call from the Gardens of Global Unity, where all things are possible. We need young content creators to develop their own projects, activities, and programs that we can include in our collaborative storytelling adventure.
The Gardens of Global Unity is a project incubator where children, youth, adults, and elders help to grow Seed Ideas from vision to reality. In 2019 we established the Climate Collaboratory as a pilot project of We, the World and the University of Florida Extension. Last year we engaged people in telling their own climate stories and sharing them in the wider community. This year we are developing “Climate Collaboratory: The Musical!” with supporting activities for youth, adults, and elders.
We need help growing these Seed Ideas: – illuminating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the 16 Earth Charter Principles with art, music, dance, theatre, games. – writing and directing an intergenerational musical play for Earth Day in April – creating the monthly EarthFlash! Games Show, with LOTS of games and challenges.
Marcus Correa is Art and Creative Coordinator for Future Coalition. Here’s his list of Seed Ideas for games and challenges:
- Video content to educate and make folks aware of the climate movement as well as the 10/29 action.
- Screen Printing as a medium for actions and art builds
- Content adressing misogyny and racism within the movement space and how to shift this.
- Creation of a climate mural or murals within BIPOC communities to provide awareness
- Theater and plays as a medium specifically in elementary schools
- Tik Tok creation using humor (low effort but high energy)
- Focus on story telling via hip hop, spoken word, writing, etc.
The Climate Collaboratory wants to showcase young content creators’ work and offer opportunities for collaboration with other groups. Our partners include Elders Action Network, Elders Climate Action, Interfaith Climate Group, and more. We’re looking for young people to partner in an intergenerational community-wide climate conversation-to-action program
The Climate Collaboratory is where we find the right partners to grow Seed Ideas from vision to reality — at exponential rates with our global networks of support. (This will take some magical thinking. And a miracle or two — or 7.8 billion).
